Food Insecurity Map

The Oregon Hunger Task Force’s 2023 Food Insecurity Map visualizes county fact sheet information about rates of hunger and food insecurity, federal and state nutrition program participation data, and economic benefits of public nutrition programs to local economies for each county in Oregon.

The map can be navigated in several ways:

  • Click on counties to learn more from a pop-up box
  • Change the information displayed by clicking the double arrows “>>” in the top left of the map
  • Search for a location using the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner

Methodology

All data are based on calendar year 2022 and academic year 2022-2023 for school-based programs. The OSU Policy Analysis Laboratory (OPAL) was contracted to complete calculations for some indicators and to compile data sets. Learn more about the methodology here.

Status of school CEP participation is from Food Research and Action Center’s Community Eligibility (CEP) Database and is current as of 5/19/2023.

Cartography and analysis by Marty Marquis. The county boundary and school location data are via the Oregon Spatial Data Library.
